Ever since you flew your first paper airplane...

...or heard “airplane noise”, or drew your hand along the fuselage of a sleek biplane at an airshow, you have wanted to be a pilot, but perhaps you don’t know what’s involved. We’re going to change that.

This section will give you some insight into what it takes to go from not knowing what IFR is, to being a commercial pilot. This is not a highly detailed and technical explanation, but rather a general overview of what is involved in each step of your training, in plain language that is easy to understand.

If you have always imagined becoming a pilot would be too complicated or that you had to be a genius, it’s just not like that. Yes, it is a challenge, but if you apply yourself you’ll be soaring among the clouds in no time.

The buttons to the right will show you the steps necessary to attain your flying goals. Once you have your Private Pilot License, you are not required to obtain more ratings or licenses. You may, however, wish to continue your training, with the goal of either widening the scope of your flying knowledge, or to pursue a career in aviation.
